Receiving her Bachelors in Music Education from Fredonia State University and her Masters in Arts Education from Stony Brook University, Kate is recognized as a performer, recording artist, conductor, Director, administrator as well as an innovative visionary in arts education. Kate holds certifications from a medley of states in both Music and Theatre Education. A native New Yorker, Kate has designed, composed and presented performances and performing arts curriculum in a variety of venues and for a variety of causes throughout her career.<\/p>

Kate also has had the pleasure of working together with such notables as Harry Chapin, Peter Perret, Michael Tilson -Thomas, Sir David Willcocks, Paul Leddington Wright, Chris McDaniel, Mark Stevick, Bruce Adolphe, Craig Schulman, Ted Vigil and, as you visit this web site, you can catch a glimpse of an impromptu singing duet with classic pop icon and Broadway composer, Barry Manilow.<\/p>

Kate has designed, implemented and presented performing arts curriculum for all learners and in a variety of school and regional theatre organizations. As a performer, Kate has toured and recorded five children\u2019s albums to date for the MZA Label and has performed her children\u2019s concerts at venues all through the east coast from New York to the Mid-Atlantic States including performances at The Capital Children\u2019s Museum as well as The Ronald McDonald House. While a music student at The Royal School of Church Music in the UK, she also had the privilege of singing for Her Majesty the Queen for the 150th celebration ceremony of the YMCA held in Westminster Abbey.<\/p>

As conductor, educator, adjudicator and lecturer, Kate has had the pleasure of taking her choirs on tour throughout the US and abroad and featured as guest conductor at Chautauqua Institute\u2019s All County Festival and Westfield Chamber Music Festival, under the direction of 2014 Grammy Award Winner Kent Knappenberger. Kate presented her chancel choir at The International Church Music Festival in Bern, Switzerland under the baton of Sir David Willcocks. Kate was the founding Choral Director of The Smithtown Arts Council Community Choir, Blue Velvet and Satin and Suede Show Choir and Indigo Blues and received awards for these choirs at various competitions and festivals within the US<\/p>

In 2015, her high school choir at Mt. Greylock received a WGBY Regional Award in Springfield, MA. Kate has adjudicated for NYSSMA as well as owning and operating her own voice and theatre studio, Music and Masque over the last three decades and now, offering virtual lessons. She has seen the many artistic accomplishments of her educational expertise through the paths of previous students that have extended their vocal careers in a performing arts\/ educational direction. She does dedicate her first book, \u201cDa Capo\u201d (Authorhouse 2014) book link to those students that made a difference in her life.<\/p>

Her second book, “The Redemption of Uncle Richard”Boss”Croker, The Lion of Manhattan” was released in 2024 and published by NFB Publishing.\u00a0<\/p>

Kate continued her work as a performing arts educator and choral director for over seven years with The North Adams Public Schools. She was the founder and director of Drury Stage Company, located also within the North Adams Public School District. Kate continues to spread her talents in sacred music ministry as organist and choral director for HUMC in Enfield, CT. Kate continues to be an active musician, playing keyboard for Silk City Jazz Band.\u00a0<\/p>

Kate\u2019s artistic talents explore not only her own musical arrangements for choir, but extend to creating and designing two musical theatre community service performance project- the first entitled, \u201cThe Rite of Passage\u201d and the second, \u201cThe Traveler\u201d. This endeavor falls under one component of \u201cThe W\u2019 holistic Performing Arts Project\u201d, a collaborative concept designed by Kate and Ted Kastrinos, which is inclusive of performing arts, education and community engagement. Music, media, prose, dialogue, and movement, this project is designed to include and embrace community in the arts. This contemporary musical passion play had its world premiere November, 2018 in The Berkshires and performed\u00a0 again in Enfield CT in 2023.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
